In Our Own Words: Portraits Of Brooklyn’s Vietnam Veterans

Below are links to some of the press commentary about a show I co-curated at the Brooklyn Historical Society called “In Our Own Words:  Portraits Of Brooklyn’s Vietnam Veterans.” It ran from 2007 to 2011.

WNET TV, Channel 13 videotaped a panel discussion about the show, called The Impact of Listening and Being Heard.

Here is a CUNY Radio podcast interview that I did about the show.

Sady Sullivan of the Brooklyn Historical Society wrote an article for Oral History in the Digital Age describing the collaborative nature of our work with the exhibition narrators.

The VVA Veteran reviewed the exhibition in 2008.

Here is the original press release: In Our On Words – FINAL Press Release 11-14.

Here is a New York Times article about it: Stories of Vietnam Veterans, Aloud – New York Times.

The Times also published brief biographies of 5 of the main narrators.
